Novomatic's "Novoline slot machines" are very popular throughout Europe and commonly appear in land-based casinos,
usually in muti-game machines dubbed "Gaminator" by the maufacturer. I've got a couple of Novomatic games here at
Games & Slot Machines and the
Dolphin's Pearl slot machine is
one such game. It's been around for a few years, initially in a 5-line format and now as a "Deluxe" game with 10 paylines
which is the one you can play above.
Novomatic games like Dolphin's Pearl,
Sizzling Hot Deluxe and even more so the popular
Book Of Ra slot machine have become something of a cult phenomonen in the UK and Eastern European
territories like Poland, Hungary and Romania. In fact, all the way across to Novomatic's homeland of Germany and up into Austria,
Dolphin's Pearl,
Book Of Ra and other Novoline slots like "
Lord Of The Ocean" pretty much dominate the more
tarditional IGT favorites like the
Cleopatra slot machine
and
Pharaohs Fortune which might surprise some people.
The Dolphin's Pearl slot machine is very similar in gameplay to "
Lucky Lady's Charm", "Sea Sirens" and "
Egyptian Experience", two other
Gaminator-based games from Novomatic in that the free spin feature provides 15 spins at 3x but with pretty frequent retriggers. Also
like those two and
Book Of Ra, Dolphins Pearl is very, very volatile! You can go a long time without a bonus feature (3 or more
scattered
oyster shells in view) but when you do, it can retrigger frequently and pay out some very big wins. Not but sometimes!
Without the free spins feature, despite the fact that the wild Dolphin symbol doubles all wins, walking away from the game
with a profit is very difficult. Not impossible, but rare enough to be notable! Idealy you will get the feature and a couple of
retriggers and
then you can start to think about profit margins!
If high volatility isn't your thing then I'd avoid Dolphin's Pearl and head off to the
the Gladiator slot machine
or the brilliant
Iron Man 2 slot both of which are entertaining and not feature-dependent like Novoline
slots tend to be. Even Aristocrat slot machines like
Queen Of The Nile 2 or the twee but fun
Where's The Gold slot will probably give you more game-time if you are on a smaller budget.
