Of all the Aristocrat slots I have tried I always seem to go back and play the Where's The Gold slot machine,
50 Lions and the Queen Of The Nile slot.
I like the Choy Sun Doa game too but the fact that you have to get bonus symbols on specific
reels on the latter relegates it down my list. But it's the feature in Where's The Gold I really love.
It's nice when you play a slot game that does something a bit different. Several of the Book Of Ra slot machine
or in Playtech's Gladiator, the increasing multiplier concept in the excellent
Iron Man 2 game or the X Factor slot's amazing bonus
sequence with all the UK contestants singing their hearts out. Aristocrat's Where's The Gold slot machine also does something a bit
different, notably extra wild symbols in the bonus feature.
Three sticks of dynamite anywhere on the screen in normal play triggers the free spin feature. You are required to select
one from a number of cartoon characters who then start prospecting for gold. They dig up spins and symbols with the latter
becoming extra wild symbols. Typically you will get 5 or 6 free spins with 1 or 2 wild symbols to play out but it can be better or worse. On
one occasion I got 7 spins with 2 wild symbols and hit 5 wilds! Doesn't happen often though!
Like most other slot machines, the bonus feature in Where's The Gold can be retriggered. It doesn't happen as
frequently as it does when you play the Dolphins pearl slot machine but on the bright
side it is much easier to get the feature in the first place. The volatility of the Where's The Gold slot machine is
definitely lower than Aristocrat's Choy Sun Doa slot but you are also less likely
to hit big here. However, for entertainment, Where's The Gold is one of my favorite Aristocrat slot machines.
If you like the old-skool feel of Aristocrat slots then you might be interested too in Novomatic's more European-focused
games, in particular the aforementioned Book Of Ra, Sizzling Hot Deluxe and Dolphin's Pearl,
all of which feature on this website.
